Why SEO should be incorporated into your initial website build

SEO as part of your initial website build (Part 1)

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) need not always be something you think of after you have built your site, read on to see why..

In layman's terms, website design is like building a shop, however we don't always have the luxury of knowing that our shop will be on the busy high street, more often than not the investment most people make in a website mostly ends up in a dark back street with little traffic passing by. How can we improve our presence?

SEO is part of a set of objectives all website owners need to look carefully at when they commission their hard earned investment on a design that may look good, but lacks the potential for passing traffic to visit the shop.During the design phase, it's important for the client and the designer to get the foundations right from the start and work together to find out some starting blocks...

  • Who is the audience for the website?
  • What are your competitors doing?
  • What content is to be used ?
  • Who will supply the content?

Once we know this, a set of keywords can be researched and integrated into the content as it goes in. What are keywords?  When someone uses a search engine, they type in one or more words that describe what they are looking for, for example if they need a "carpenter in Essex" they will type this is. This is known as a keyword.

So thinking about your target audience during the website building phase is often overlooked from an SEO point of view and we are now in the process of educating our clients how this can help them get on the ladder a lot earlier.

How do we engage with our target audience?

Well it's often been said by many marketing pundits..including us..that good relevant content is important. What do we mean?...content.

Content after all, is..after we have looked at the pretty sliding graphics and images on your website, what else is there to do..well hopefully there is something interesting and relevant to read otherwise we become a drop off statistic.

Investing in a copy writer or articles written in house in a worth while investment, people do like to read about what your industry is doing and always love the odd give away.

We have proven results which all of our happy clients will testify to..why not contact us today for a free quote and website health check to see how we can help you today !
